Description
The Ant and the Grasshopper is a Aesop fable. It is a story about a colony of hardworking ants and a lazy grasshopper. The ants wake up early each morning to gather food and rebuild their home to prepare for winter. They work all day long everyday. The grasshopper, on the other hand, wakes around noon and enjoys carefree days. The grasshopper always invites the ants to come hang around the garden with him but the ants always refuse saying they have too much work to do to prepare for winter. At one point the ants even suggest to the grasshopper to start preparing for winter. The grasshopper ignored the ants. Winter soon came and the ants had plenty of food and a sturdy shelter to live in during the cold months. The grasshopper sat outside freezing alone with no food. The kind ants don't leave him alone, but help him with food and shelter. Next summer, grasshopper also works very hard.
