Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo is a story about the travelling of a train. How the train is loaded, where it travels and how the train gets emptied. Along the way the reader learns terms such as “caboose”, for example when it states that the caboose is red and there is only one red cart on the train. This story was very simple and therefore would be a good start for students wanting to learn simple facts about trains. This book does include common train terminology such as “freight”, “caboose”, “engine”, etc. The book teaches the reader such terms while also entertaining you with a rhyming story and well done illustrations. This book is extremely simplistic with a rhyming theme. For this reason, this book can be used to teach young children simple train vocabulary. This book can also be used to teach young children about rhyming and the students can create lists of rhyming words.
